I must tell what God has done. It’s so wonderful to have a Lord in whom we can glory and to whom glory is more than due!!
When Jarod and I first found out we were expecting our baby we knew a great portion of our maternity expenses would be out of pocket as we’d not been members of Samaritan Ministries very long. In truth, we were so excited about the baby that worrying over the money never really became a big issue. God blessed us with a very kind, Christian midwife who was willing to work within our financial abilities and a back up doctor who drastically cut his fees when he realized he wouldn’t be our primary care provider. (This is a doctor who doesn’t usually work with home birth patients or midwives and yet God gave us favor in his eyes.) Each month has been tight and yet at the end of each one every bill was paid in full. (And Jarod and I still had some “dates” in the midst of it all, too. ) We rejoiced before the Lord…
In the summer, a piano student’s aunt sent word that they had a lightly used crib they’d like to give us if we were okay with a used one. Of course, Jarod and I both grew up in homes where used was no big deal so it didn’t matter to us. When we got to their house to get the crib we discovered that they were actually planning to give us most of their entire nursery!! (The husband actually told us he’d pay us to take it all – he was tired of moving it all around. ) We were shocked and I was nearly in tears when we got home. I stood on our porch looking down at this truck load of baby items and was just overwhelmed. “Lord, who are we that you would pour out such blessings on us?” It was tremendous…
But it gets better… Three weeks ago, from three very different and very unexpected sources, we received gifts that reimbursed us just about everything we’d spent over and above what Samaritan Ministries would cover. God’s timing was perfect. At the onset of November it appeared that it might be the month where our funds wouldn’t cover everything, but God knew better! Now everything’s just about ready and we’re gearing down to await the arrival of our little one knowing without a shadow of doubt that God pays for what He gives.
Jarod putting the crib together earlier this summer. We didn’t have space to store it so up it went almost immediately!
Happy day! Making up the crib for the first time last week.
Misc. pictures from the past few weeks – maybe months!
Thanksgiving was spent with my family at my cousin’s new, wonderfully wow house. Afterwards, Momma and Bruce came to our house for dessert. Apple pie, pumpkin pie, cinnamon roll ring and chocolate chip cookies. And of course, coffee, hot tea or hot chocolate. Yummy!
Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving found us decorating our first Christmas tree together!
“Now why aren’t these lights working?”
This past weekend found some of our good friends from TN here to visit. We had a great time visiting with them at my parents home over dinner, singin’ around the piano at church and goofin’ off with a deck of cards. Saturday, they stopped by to see our house on the way back north.
Nelson, Bruce and Jarod
There’s several more things I was hoping to post on here, but my time is nearly gone. Jarod will soon be home for lunch and will be in need of his computer the rest of the day at the office. Maybe I’ll get to keep it one more day before the baby comes and get a little more caught up….

What a wonderful post! You really are quite good at this honey. You are also pretty great at this whole “wife” thing! I can’t wait to see you as a mother! (Especially since I get to be the daddy!) Those are good pictures of the crib all made up. Loving you from here!
Hey Anna! Glad things are coming along well for you. Man, your pregnancy is almost over!

Loved the pictures (of course) and I even enjoyed the words too. 🙂 haha.. So I guess that last picture means Jarod is getting kinda excited about a certain something that is getting ready to happen….I wonder what in the world that is.

So good to get an update, and I enjoyed the pictures so much! Your home looks so inviting, just as I would expect it to be. Pregnancy looks beautiful on you, and I am praying for you as the birth draws near. Love to you!
Thanks so much for sharing about God’s provision! It is an encouragement to me. May the Lord continue to bless you all!
I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! YAY for an UPDATE! I love you and miss you greatly! *hug* Sleep well…
Yay!!! I loved the post Anna! Blessings from God, putting up baby things, Thanksgiving, decorating your first Christmas tree together, friends coming to visit. It included all the best things! I’m so happy that God invented the internet and web blogs so we can see pictures and things of you guys even though you’re so far away!! 🙂 Oh, and by the way we have a few more Christmas ornaments for you to put on your tree that we have on our’s right now but are Jarod’s. Like his first Christmas, maybe some others and his apple ornament that’s dated from 1986 🙂 We’ll give ’em to ya next time we’re together.
