I was just pondering this statement I recently heard as I was preparing supper:
Foolishness is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
Do you agree? Best run before I burn something. Let me know what you think.

Came across your blog from another site and have thoroughly enjoyed reading your posts! 🙂 Keep walking in the truth God is speaking to you! So glad to hear of how He is both revealing HIMSELF to you as well providing for all your needs. He is so faithful and trustworthy!
Well, certainly doing the same thing over and over, not changing anything, can be foolish…But didn’t Elijah pray 7 times for it to rain after the big drought? And Naaman had to dip like 7 ties in the Jordan River…and God kept on sending prophet after prophet even though the Jews kept ignoring them…
I dunno, I think the same results don’t always come from the same effort. I think God decides in each case what results to give. But usually he does give the same ones each time, and usually we need to change on the inside before he’ll give us different results. So it would be foolish to remain the same person and think God is going to start doing different things in my life…
Weren’t Elijah and Naaman different guys on the inside after each dip/prayer? Interesting thought. Our focus should be on doing what God wants us to do. “Elijah, go pray.” “Naaman, go dip seven times.” When we obey his voice, and seek his face, it doesn’t matter how many times we do it. In the end, we win. That is certainly not foolish. So I guess the answer to your question is that in some situations, repeating an action over and over is NOT foolish. But in others, when we are doing something the displeases God, then yes, it’s pretty dumb to expect something different.
